We’ve rented houses in several different locations from Florida, Wisconsin and Michigan. This is the first house that the entire family started referring to as “home” instead of just as “the house” after a full day of snorkeling or hiking. Poipu Beach is literally 2 minutes away and this home had a full array of beach accessories. The location is perfect for going north to hike the Kalalau Trail or go the other direction to hike into the Waimea canyon. It’s also only 25 minutes from the airport. When we come back to Kauai, we would put this house at the top of our list to stay. Dave and Judy

The Aikane House was a delightful home for our extended family on Kauai. The home was better than expected; the pictures do not do it justice. The home was spacious, airy, fully stocked with all essentials: kitchenware; beach paraphernalia; towels. The upstairs living room was breezy and airy, with cross-ventilation that precluded the need for any air-conditioning, though units were available. The house was spotless and well-equipped for all of us: seniors, adult children, and grandchildren. The laundry room contained beach equipment from chairs to beach toys for the kids. The outside shower, which had a hot water lever, was perfect for clean-ups after the beach. The view from the upstairs bedroom was magnificent. We would love to return to the Poipu Beach House in the future. It made our trip to Kauai so special! Reviewed by: Laine from Los Angeles

We loved staying at the house in Poipu. It was very comfortable and lived up to the website photos. Chris and Teresa are wonderful hosts and we will come back to stay there again. Also we will recommend this house to family and friends who want to come to the “garden island of Kauai”. This house was perfect for our family of 4 adults and two children. We were pleasantly surprised to find it completely furnished with everything that you could possibly need; including a coffee grinder to grind beans fresh every morning. Chris and Teresa are very thoughtful in furnishing their home with everything that you need for your stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the upper level lanai both morning and evening to watch the ocean just a hundred yards away or walking down to the end of the street to watch the sunset. Fabulous view! Great location to Poipu Beach, where we spent a lot of time. It is a perfect beach for small children and also for water lovers of all ages. We were very happy to come to Kauai and recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great vacation destination! Rosa Family

Our family absolutely LOVED it here! IT really becomes a “home away from home.” The place had everything! We went shopping for some things, but luckily anything we forgot was right here at “home.” We woke up a couple morning to whales breaching and sea turtles, got some good video! Chris, What a wonderful trip! We did everything from snorkeling and kayaking to Botanical Gardens and boogie boarding! Happy New Year! Though everyone is settled back into our regular routines, we are still basking in the glow of our Hawaii vacation. I wrote a little entry in the journal in the house but want to write you to thank you again for providing the setting for a great vacation.

What a fabulous location. Close enough to the view and sound of the surf but away from the traffic of a well-traveled road. Thank you for providing the snorkels, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella. Your attention to detail is very much appreciated. We had a fabulous Vacation in Kauai staying at this house. It was everything that it was advertised to be. The house itself is beautiful and clean. We enjoyed sitting on the Lanai and watching the ocean. The house is equipped with everything you need: coolers, boogie boards, beach chairs, etc. Would definitely stay there again if possible. Chris, It’s been 30 years since I was here in Poipu & Kauai running Camp Hawaiian Surf – it was great then and, again, now. We had a ball! Went to Poipu, Polihale, Kokee, Waimea, Hanapepe, Kekaha, Salt Pond, Kipu, Nawiliwili Harbor, Lydgate, Fern Grotto, etc. Played golf at Wailua, Poipu Bay & Kiahuna. A little windy but a great time. Hopefully you will be reading this entry when you first arrive. If you have stayed here before, you know what a fantastic place AIKANE Kauai is and what great guy Chris is. If this is your first visit you have a treat in store for you. If you plan to line up island activities like ziplining, horseback riding or power hang gliding you better do it right away. We would highly recommend this vacation rental, and give especially high marks to its owner/manager, Chris. The house was everything that we expected it to be, exactly as it appeared on the website. It was so well equipped that it really felt like a home away from home. Chris was so friendly, from the time we made the reservation through our time on the island. He even came over to cut down ripe bananas for us! We were thoroughly impressed with the whole experience. We felt like we were living the Hawaiian dream– at least for our two weeks there!
